Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 29, 2025
Welcome to the Pinner plugin for Figma ("Plugin"), developed by Azolla LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). We’re committed to protecting your privacy while helping you bring Pinterest inspiration into your Figma designs. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we keep it safe when you use the Plugin and its associated services hosted at pin.azolla.studio.
1. Information We Collect
We collect minimal information to enable the Plugin’s functionality:
- Pinterest Access Tokens: When you connect your Pinterest account via OAuth, we receive an access token from Pinterest. This token allows us to fetch your boards and pins on your behalf.
- Temporary Authorization Data: We generate a unique identifier during authorization to link your OAuth request to the access token. This is stored briefly in our database.
- Usage Logs: Our server can log basic request details from time to time (e.g., timestamps, endpoints accessed) for debugging and performance monitoring. These logs don’t include personal identifiers beyond what’s needed for operation.
We don’t collect your name, email, or other personal details directly—only what Pinterest provides via OAuth, which is limited to the access token tied to your account. We don’t use cookies or maintain session data across requests. we don't store any information about your boards or pins on Pinterest.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use this data solely to make the Plugin work:
- Access Tokens: Used to authenticate API calls to Pinterest’s servers to retrieve your boards and pins, which are then imported into Figma.
- Temporary Authorization Data: The unique identifier is stored temporarily to match your authorization with the token, ensuring a smooth handoff back to Figma. It’s deleted once the token is retrieved or after 1 hour, whichever comes first.
- Logs: Help us troubleshoot issues and improve the Plugin. Logs are anonymized and kept only as long as needed for these purposes.
We don’t use your data for marketing, profiling, or anything beyond delivering the Plugin’s core functionality.
3. How We Store and Protect Your Data
- Database: Access tokens and write keys are stored in a database hosted on our secure server. Tokens are encrypted at rest using standard database security practices.
- Retention: Write keys and tokens are deleted from our database within 1 hour of creation or immediately after you retrieve them via the Plugin, whichever happens first.
- Security: We use HTTPS for all communications, industry-standard encryption, and access controls to protect your data from unauthorized access. Our hosting provider complies with [e.g., SOC 2—adjust based on your host’s certs] security standards.
4. Sharing Your Information
We don’t sell, trade, or share your data, except:
- Pinterest: The OAuth process involves sharing your authorization code with Pinterest to get the access token, per their API terms.
- Service Providers: We use a hosting provider (e.g., [Your Host Name]) to run our server, but they don’t access your data beyond what’s needed for infrastructure.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law (e.g., a court order), we’ll comply, but only after notifying you unless prohibited.
5. Third-Party Services
- Pinterest API: The Plugin interacts with Pinterest’s API (see their Privacy Policy). Your Pinterest data stays between you, Pinterest, and Figma—we’re just the conduit.
- Figma: The Plugin runs within Figma, subject to their Privacy Policy. Imported pins are stored in your Figma project, not by us.
6. Your Choices and Rights
- Revoke Access: You can disconnect the Plugin from Pinterest anytime via Pinterest’s settings or by clearing the token in Figma (
figma.clientStorage.setAsync('pinterest_token', null) in the console).
- Data Access: Since we only store tokens and write keys temporarily, there’s little to access. Contact us at hello@azolla.studio if you have questions about your data.
- EU/CA Residents: If you’re in the EU, UK, or California, you may have rights to request data deletion or access. Reach out—we’ll handle it promptly.
7. Cookies and Tracking
We don’t use cookies, trackers, or analytics on pin.azolla.studio. The Plugin doesn’t track you within Figma beyond basic server logs.
8. Children’s Privacy
The Plugin isn’t designed for users under 13. We don’t knowingly collect data from kids.
9. Changes to This Policy
We’ll update this policy if our practices change. Check back here or contact us for the latest version. Significant changes will be announced via [e.g., Figma Community page—specify your method].
